Terms of service
The agreement between you and RiffTube when you use the app.
Last updated: September 2026
Acceptance
RiffTube ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile and web app that lets you loop and slow down YouTube videos for practice. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The service
RiffTube lets you save YouTube videos to a personal library, mark A → B loops within them, organize those loops into playlists, and practice with tools such as a metronome, tuner, and chord library. Video playback happens through YouTube's official player. We do not host, copy, download, or redistribute any video content.
Because playback depends on YouTube, videos may become unavailable, region-restricted, or non-embeddable at any time, and we cannot guarantee that a given video will remain playable.
Your account
You can use core features as a guest without an account. Signing in with Google lets you sync your library across devices. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to it secure.
You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings in either app. Deleting your account removes your saved videos, loops, and playlists.
Free tier and Pro
The free tier lets you save up to 3 videos and 3 loops per video, and may show ads. RiffTube Pro is a one-time purchase of $9.99 USD that removes those limits and ads and unlocks the tuner and chord library. Pro is not a subscription: there is nothing recurring and nothing to cancel.
Prices may change for new purchases. A change in price does not affect a purchase you have already made.
Purchases and refunds
Purchases made in the iPhone or Android app are processed by Apple or Google as in-app purchases, and purchases made on the web are processed by our payment provider. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by the app store that processed the payment, under that store's refund policy — we cannot issue refunds on their behalf. For a purchase made on the web, contact us and we will review the request.
Pro is tied to the account or store account used to buy it. You can restore a previous purchase from within the app.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app to infringe anyone's copyright or other rights
- Attempt to download, rip, extract, or redistribute video or audio content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app or its servers
- Use the app in a way that breaks applicable law, or YouTube's terms
Your use of YouTube content through the app is also governed by YouTube's Terms of Service.
Your content
Loops, playlists, names, and notes you create remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store that data and make it available to you across your devices.
Our content
The RiffTube name, logo, app, and website are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not grant you rights to use our branding.
Availability and changes
We may add, change, or discontinue features over time. We aim to keep the app available and working, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service.
Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, or if required by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the latest version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
